Digital travel pass sa Pinas target ng DOT

MANILA, Philippines – Ikinokonsidera ng Department of Tourism (DOT) ang pagkakaroon ng COVID-19 digital travel pass bilang rekisito sa mga bibisita sa bansa.

Ang digital travel pass ay ginagamit na sa ngayon bilang global travel standards sa paghahanda para sa ligtas na pagbabalik-normal ng mga pagbyahe sa buong mundo.

“This move is parallel with the steps undertaken by other countries that have successfully relaxed borders to visitors amid the COVID-19 pandemic,” ani Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.

Ang posibilidad na pagpapatupad din ng digital travel pass ay iminungkahi ng tourism chief sa International Air Transport Association (IATA) at local tourism industry leaders.

Bahagi ng IATA Travel Pass technology solutions ang digital pass para sa mga paseherong bibisita sa Pilipinas.

“The DOT recognizes the challenges that the country is currently facing due to the pandemic. The agency’s work is centered on the gradual and careful reopening of tourism destinations to support livelihoods, with health and safety as our top priority,” ani Puyat.

“Albeit on its testing stage, the IATA Travel Pass, which offers safe and convenient travel, has so far been helpful to airlines that have adopted it for trial,” giit pa niya.
