MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ni Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno na tinitingnan ng gobyerno ang tamang paraan kung paano gagamitin ang Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) o national ID para bawasan sa leakages sa cash transfer at subsidy programs.

Sa isinagawang deliberasyon sa Mababang Kapulungan ng panukalang P5.268-trillion national budget para sa taong 2023,sinabi ni Diokno na ang social protection programs ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ay dapat na ipagpatuloy, “giving of ‘ayuda’ na may kaugnayan sa krisis.

Sinabi ni Diokno na mayroong malaking leakages sa cash transfer programs—Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) ng gobyerno at kailangan na tugunan ang unconditional cash transfers (UCT).

“The most efficient way to do this is by requiring all the citizens to have a national ID,” ayon kay Diokno.

“We are thinking along the lines of maybe limiting the beneficiaries to those who have national ID,” dagdag na pahayag.
