Direktang Manila-Brussels flight itinutulak ni Villar

MANILA, Philippines – Bilang sideline meeting sa Asean-EU Summit, nakipagpulong sina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Speaker Martin Romualdez, at Senator Mark Villar, kasama ang delegasyon ng Pilipinas, sa mga airport executive ng Brussels, Belgium kung saan tinalakay ang posibilidad na magkaroon ng direktang flight mula Manila papuntang Brussels at vice versa.

“Now that the air transport industry is booming again, it would be beneficial for us to have a Manila to Brussels direct flight. This will boost our economy through the tourism industry” giit ni Villar.

Sa normal na byahe, ang lipad mula Maynila patungong Brussels ay may napakahabang layover sa iba’t ibang bansa na kadalasan umaabot ng 20 hanggang 24 oras na paglalakbay.

Pero sinabi ni Philippine Airlines President at CEO Capt. Stanley Ng, aabutin lamang ng humigit-kumulang 13 hanggang 14 na oras ang direktang flight.

“Direct flights from Manila to Brussels would help us a lot, especially since both cities can be transport hubs, Manila being close to other Asian countries and Brussels being a train away from major cities in Europe like Paris and the Netherlands,” dagdag pa ng neophyte senator.

Sumang-ayon naman din si Marcos sa posibilidad na magkaroon ng Manila-Brussels direct flight, dahil ito ay makakatulong sa ating economic recovery program at magbibigay daan para sa mas maraming OFWs na makauwi. RNT
