THE TRANSPARENCY group Filipino League of Advocates for Good Governance (FLAGG) has warned President-elect Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. on the possible transfer of former Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) president and chief executive officer Vince Dizon, who is reportedly doing the rounds and announcing that he will be anointed as the Department of Transportation (DOTr) secretary.

FLAGG, in a statement, said there are more qualified and capable personalities who can help in the incoming administration than Dizon who is fully covered with intrigue and has a questionable character.

The group said the business sector was disgusted over Dizon’s haughtiness in declaring himself as the next DOTr chief.

“He is moving around and bragging that his benefactor, no less than business tycoon Enrique ‘Ricky’ Razon, is backing his bid to be the next transportation czar,” a member of the group said.

Dizon has reportedly claimed that Razon was a big BBM ‘campaign contributor’ “so the multi-billionaire cannot easily be rejected.”

“Dizon is destroying BBM and Razon’s reputations,” FLAGG said.

The group said the transition has hardly started and “Dizon’s antics are not doing the incoming administration any good.”

FLAGG said there is no problem if BBM taps the services of people from the other camp to help his administration because unity has always been his battle cry.

“But getting someone with a cooked reputation and questionable motive could do more harm than good,” FLAGG said.

Dizon is known in the circle as a minion of incoming Senator Alan Peter Cayetano and was part of the controversial Cauldron scam in the 2019 Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC).

Cayetano was the chairman of PHISGOC while Dizon was the BCDA president when the controversy made headlines.

A source inside the Marcos camp told this kibitzer they know that Cayetano and Dizon were also ‘financiers’ and supporters of Isko Moreno in the last presidential election.

No less than Moreno’s campaign manager, Lito Banayo, revealed that Dizon was working for them as deputy campaign manager and statistical research head. Well, if this is true then delicadeza is being thrown out of the window.

Yes BBM is calling every Filipino to unite behind his leadership. But if you are someone who spent time and precious money to support the candidacy of another candidate and was instrumental in the negative campaign against the President-elect would you still have the gall to join his administration?
