Karamihan sa COVID deaths ng Nikkei’s November report naitala noong Aug.-Oct. 2021

Manila, Philippines – Iginiit ng Department of Health (DOH) na ang short-term case fatality rate na 9% sa ‘Nikkei Asia’s latest COVID-19 recovery index’ ay naitala mula Agosto hanggang Oktubre, batay sa ulat.

Ayon sa DOH, ang 9% case fatality rate ay nakalkula ng ‘Our World in Data’ base sa ‘daily fatalities’ na naireport mula Nobyembre 18 hanggang 27.

Sa kabila nito, ang 2,096 na naitalang nasawi ay 80% ng naitala noong Agosto hanggang Oktubre habang 16% naman sa Nobyembre.

“We are aware of the delays in the encoding of death information to COVIDKaya, hence we are addressing this issue with the Epidemiology and Surveillance Units to ensure our COVID-19 data is up to date,” paliwanag ni Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire.

Dagdag pa nito, bumababa na ang kaso ng COVID maging ang mga nasawi matapos ang peak noong Setyembre.

 “The vaccination program has helped lower our case fatality rate. Hence, the DOH continues to urge the high-risk population, especially senior citizens and those with underlying conditions, to get fully vaccinated to provide them with additional protection against COVID-19.” RNT/FGDC
