MANILA, Philippines – Itinalaga bilang bagong deputy chief-of-staff for intelligence ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) si Philippine Army Major General Romulo Manuel Jr.
Pinalitan niya sa puwesto si Major General Alex Luna sa isinagawang seremonya sa General Headquarters sa Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
Pinangunahan ni AFP deputy chief-of-staff, Navy Vice Adm. Rommel Anthony Reyes ang seremonya.
“Maj. Gen. Manuel’s sterling achievements, formidable ‘game-changing ‘capabilities, and enhanced individual competencies will always be associated with him as the ‘King of Battle.’ As he assumes higher responsibility, I am confident that he will sustain the progress started by his predecessors,” ani Reyes.
Bago maitalaga sa bagong posisyon, nagsilbi muna si Manuel bilang Artillery Regiment commander ng PA.
Nagsilbi rin siya bilang PA assistant chief-of-staff for plans (G-5), at pinuno ng field artillery department ng Combat Arms School, Training and Doctrine Command.
Bilang bagong intelligence chief ng AFP, pangungunahan ni Manuel ang pagbuo ng mga plano, programa at polisiya para mabigyan ang AFP chief-of-staff ng istratehikong gabay sa nasabing larangan.
