Mas murang RT-PCR COVID test isinusulong ng DOT

Manila, Philippines – Hinihiling ni Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat sa national government na babaan ang presyo ng RT-PCR tests.

Kasalukuyang ikinokonsidera ang RT-PCR test na “gold standard” sa COVID-19 testing na nagkakahalagang P3,500 sa ilang laboratory.

Mas mura naman ito sa Philippine General Hospital (PGH) na nasa P1,800 lamang at P1,500 sa Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC).

“We still find P3,500 quite expensive… Natataasan ako especially if you’re a family of 5,” lahad ni Romulo-Puyat sa ANC’s Headstart.

“I will again bring this up with the IATF (Inter-Agency task Force) na kung puwede babaan pa kasi ang PGH nga can charge P1,800, and PCMC can charge P1,500, why can’t others do the same?” lahad pa nito.

Samantala, nasa lokal na pamahalaan na rin kung tatanggalin nila ang RT-PCR test requirement para sa fully vaccinated individuals.

“The LGU has a choice now so that really removes a lot.”

“I’m always pushing for less travel restrictions, but at the same time it has to be balanced with health and safety,” lahad pa ng opisyal. RNT/FGDC
