Mga mag-aaral na fully vaxxed vs COVID, kaunti lang – DepEd

MANILA, Philippines- Tanging 19 porysento lamang ng mga mag-aaral ang fully vaccinated laban sa COVID-19, ayon sa Department of Education (DepEd) nitong Biyernes, tatlong araw bago muling magbukas ang School Year 2022-2023.

“Sa learners, ang vax rate natin nationwide is 19%,” ani DepEd spokesperson Michael Poa sa isang press briefing.

Ani Poa, ang mababang bilang ay dahil sa hindi mandatoryo ang vaccination program ng pamahalaan laban sa COVID-19.

“Of course we would like to have 100% vaccination rate but the truth of the matter is the vaccination program of the government is not mandatory,” sabi niya.

Samantala, ang vaccination rate naman sa teaching at non-teaching personnel ay pumalo sa 92 porsyento, base kay Poa.

Nauna nang sinabi ng DepEd na magsasagawa ito ng mobile vaccination sa mga paaralan upang pataasin ang vaccination rate sa mga bata.

“I cannot give you an exact timeline but we are coordinating this effort with the Department of Health,” aniya.

“We are issuing a new memorandum focused on safety standards. Hopefully, it will be released today or tomorrow,” sabi pa ni Poa.

“This will address isolation, quarantine requirements in the event somebody tests positive for COVID-19 while in the classroom.”

Hindi bababa sa 27 milyong mag-aaral ang nagpatala para sa school year 2022 hanggang 2023. RNT/SA
