NAVOTAS City Mayor John Rey Tiangco stated that his administration has been continuously promoting products that are produced by his constituents as he cited the latest winners of the One Barangay One Product (OBOP) program.
Leading the pack was Barangay Tangos-North which bagged the top OBOP Govaward with its ‘kakaning tibok-tibok.’
On second was Barangay Navotas-West with its tuna chips and Barangay Tanza 1 for being third with their mushroom farming project.
2022 Urban Governance Exemplar Awards
Meanwhile, the mayor recognized local government offices and member agencies that collectively worked and earned various awards and distinctions recently.
In October and November this year, the city bagged eight citations in the 2022 Urban Governance Exemplar Awards from the Department of the Interior and Local Government-National Capital Region and two from the Bureau of Local Government Finance.
Navotas also received recognition from the Department of Health-Metro Manila Center for Health Development and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development.
Greenzone Park opens for Navoteños
Top Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and Navotas officials led the opening to the public the 3,500square meter Greenzone Park located in the neighboring villages of Bangkulasi and North Bay Boulevard North.
Mayor JRT and Rep. Toby Tiangco personally graced the turn-over ceremony with MMDA Chairman Romando Artes held at the Navotas Greenzone Park specifically found along R-10.
The Tiangco brothers were gratified by the initiatives of MMDA to set aside funds to redevelop open areas into parks.
More NCH wards
The mayor said Navotas City Hospital has additional three 15-bed capacity wards designed to accommodate the increasing number of poor patients.
“It has been seven years since we opened our hospital to the public. As time passed, more and more people sought its services, thus, the need to continuously upgrade its facilities and equipment.”
In 2018, the city government began the construction of NCH extension to cater to more Navoteños in need of medical treatment and health services.
