“We believe in the Filipino chess players. We know we can really excel in the international stage in both over-the-board and online chess competitions” ani Paez sa ginanap na “Usapang Sports on Air” ng Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) via Zoom nitong Huwebes.

“Even our sponsor, Mr.  Ronald Mascarinas of Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. (BAVI), believes that Filipino chess players can excel,” paliwanag ni Paez na nagsalita sa weekly forum kasama si Rotary Club of Nuvali president Sam Balboa.

“This is actually our fourth year organizing the tournament. But unlike the first three editions which were held in Laguna, Muntinlupa and Pasay over the board, we’ll do it now  online due to the pandemic.”

“Even compared to cash prizes of regular over-the-board competitions, this is the biggest in recent years.

Rico Navarro
