Pagbabakuna sa mga lalawigan vs COVID mas palalakasin ng PH gov’t

MANILA, Philippines- Lalabanan ng gobyerno ang posibleng surge sa COVID-19 cases sa labas ng Kalakhang Maynila sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalakas ng COVID-19 vaccination at pagbibigay ng access sa anti-COVID-19 medicines.

Ang pahayag na ito ni Acting presidential spokesperson at Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles ay tugon sa tanong kung handa ba ang bansa sakaling magkaroon ng surge sa COVID-19 cases sa labas ng Kalakhang Maynila, epicenter ng pandemiya.

“Number one, we really have to ramp up our vaccination rates in NCR (National Capital Region) Plus and outside NCR areas,” ayon Kay Nograles.

“And number two, we have new weapons right now in our arsenal which are  the antiviral medicines. The good news is that the FDA (Food and Drug Administration has already approved bexovid and  molnupiravir,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

Nauna rito, nagpalabas ang FDA ng emergency use authorization sa  molnupiravir sa ilalim ng brand name na Molnarz at bexovid, generic version ng Pfizer’s anti-COVID-19 drug Paxlovid.

“There are other antiviral drugs also in our arsenal that would help decrease the probability of mild and moderate cases of COVID-19 going into severe and critical,” ayon kay Nograles.

“Those are new elements in this fight against COVID-19, plus the fact that the data shows that if you’re fully vaccinated and got a booster, then there are lesser chances of you getting severe COVID-19 and being in critical situation due to COVID-19 amid the Omicron variant,” aniya pa rin.

Tinatayang may 53 milyong Pilipino na ang fully vaccinated laban sa COVID-19.

Iyon nga lamang, nabigo ang bansa na maabot ang year end 2021 target nito na gawing fully vaccinated ang 54 milyong Pilipino laban sa COVID-19.

Inaasahan naman ng pamahalaan na magiging fully vaccinated ang 77 milyong Pilipino laban sa COVID-19 bago matapos ang Marso at 90 milyong Pilipino naman bago matapos ang Hunyo ngayong taon. Kris Jose
