Pagmamadali sa pagpasa sa Maharlika fund, nakababahala – NSE

MANILA, Philippines – Nakababahala at kahina-hinala ang pagmamadali na maipasa ang Maharlika Fund bill.

Ito ang sinabi ng National Scientist in Economics (NSE) nitong Lunes, Disyembre 12 kung saan ang usapin sa sovereign wealth fund ay umingay lamang sa administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

“We had sovereign wealth fund bills in the past. They did not get traction at all, it got traction only when BBM become president and the Speaker of the House is of course very close. It gives you a lingering suspicion that something is being rushed before we wake up. That’s is very, very disturbing,” ani National Scientist in Economics Raul Fabella sa panayam ng ANC.

Matatandaan na pinangunahan at suportado nina House Speaker Martin Romualdez, at ilan pang mambabatas kabilang na si Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandro Marcos, ang House Bill 6398 na naglalayong magtatag ng sovereign wealth fund ng bansa.

Sa katunayan ay sinabi pa ni Albay Rep. Joey Salceda na utos ito ng Pangulo at makabubuti sa ekonomiya ng bansa.

“With respect to the Congressional law or bill, which is bound to pass, my own feeling is that it should be scrapped, if not scrapped, we should fight in the Senate to have it properly done or scrapped even in the Senate. There are many other problems that we have to face,” sinabi pa ni Fabella.

“In the Philippines, the concentration of funds tends to disappear because of our weak rule of law,” dagdag niya. RNT/JGC
