MANILA, Philippines – Dapat aniyang irespeto ang pagpapasaklolo ng ilan sa mga programa sa telebisyon upang makamit ang agarang hustisya ayon kay Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo.

“I have not watched those programs. Things have changed over time. People have seen another platform by which they can air their grievances,” ani Gesmundo sa kauna-unahan nitong news conference.

“Looking at it positively, I will call it an alternative mode of dispute resolution. If they are happy and content with the results there, let’s respect their choice.”

Ngunit aniya “there might be issues on the dignity of a person.”

“In the judicial process, we avoid disrespect for other people’s rights,” giit ng Chief Justice.

Dagdag pa nito na: “I will not say that it is improper although there is a lack of judicial process. There are judicial processes but some people I think are impatient that they want instant relief immediately.”

Iginiit pa nito ang due process bagamat aminado itong mabagal ang hustisya sa bansa.

“Admittedly judicial processes are quite long, but this is what is required under the Constitution. We have procedural rules if you go to court so that justice can be administered in an orderly manner,” saad ni Gesmundo. RNT/ELM
