Pagtapyas sa halaga ng RT-PCR test sinisilip ng DOH- Duque

MANILA, Philippines- Sa gitna ng mga reklamo sa social media at sa paglobo ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections, sinabi ng Department of Health (DOH) nitong Huwebes na sisilipin nito ang pagpapababa sa presyo ng RT-PCR tests sa bansa.

“We will look into this,” ani Health Secretary Francisco Duque III sa CNN Philippines.

Ayon kay Duque, nauna nang ipatupad ng DOH ang mas mababang testing fee para sa cartridge-based at plate-based RT-PCR testing.

Noong Setyembre 2021, inanunsyo ng DOH na ang RT-PCR testing sa public facilities ay dapat nagkakahalaga ng P2,450 hanggang P2,800 at P2,940 hanggang P3,360 sa private facilities.

“It’s now, I think for public, it’s about 2,800 thereabouts for plate-based RT-PCR and for cartridge-based, it’s about 2,400 thereabouts,” paglalahad ni Duque.

“And for the private, it’s a bit higher because they have to shoulder all the testing inputs. The test kits, the human resource, the overhead cost, etc,” aniya pa.

Inilahad ni Duque na pag-aaralan ng pamahalaan kung mas mapapababa pa ang presyo ng naturang test.

“But we will still see if it can all be brought down further so that this will unburden our people of what they say is costly testing,” sabi niya. RNT/SA
