Pamamahagi ng P5B fuel subsidies sa PUV drivers paspasan na- solon

MANILA, Philippines- Nanawagan ang isang mambabatas nitong Martes sa Department of Transportation (DOTr) at sa Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) na agad na ipalabas ang P5 bilyong halaga ng fuel subsidies upang maibsan ang epekto ng  pagtaas ng presyo ng langis sa public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers at operators.

Kasabay ng paghahain ng House Resolution 2515, sinabi ni San Jose del Monte City Rep. Florida Robes na ang pagtaas sa presyo ng langis ay lalong makapagpapabigat sa “already long-suffering public utility drivers” na hindi pa nakababangon mula sa epekto ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Ani Robes, may nakalaang P5 bilyong halaga ng fuel subsidies na nakalista bilang unprogrammed appropriation sa ilalim ng  2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA), na maaari lamang magamit sakaling lumampas ang government revenue collection sa revenue target.

“The DoTR and the LTFRB are tasked to issue the fuel subsidies. However, it is taking it some time to release the assistance supposedly due to certain requirements needed from drivers,” pahayag ni Robes sa kanyang resolusyon.

“The DOTr and LTFRB should be mindful of the exigency of the situation and proceed with dispatch the immediate release of the fuel subsidy in order to give reprieve to our public utility drivers who are still reeling from the economic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic,” patuloy pa niya. RNT/SA
