PH, Denmark nagkasundo sa digital cooperation

MANILA, Philippines – Sisiyasatin ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) ang potential digital cooperation kasama ang Denmark sa pagpapalakas ng digitalisasyon sa bansa.

Sa pahayag, sinabi ni Information and Communications Technology Undersecretary Anna Mae Lamentillo na nakipag-usap na siya sa digital adoption initiatives kasama si Danish Ambassador to the Philippines, Franz-Michael Skjold Mellbin.

Maaari umanong makinabang ang bansa sa kaalaman ng Denmark pagdating sa cybersecurity, e-governance, digital health at maritime digital transition.

“Denmark is well-advanced in developing and using digital solutions. New technological solutions help them address the capacity challenge of health worker shortage,” ani Lamentillo.

“Denmark is also a pioneer in digital shipping registries and digital certificates for seafarers on Danish flagged ships. These solutions have helped reduce administrative burdens, lower costs and easier access to data. We hope to learn much from them in these areas,” dagdag niya.

Tinitingnan na rin umano ng DICT ang pakikipagkasundo sa iba pang mga bansa para mas mapalawak pa ang technical expertise ng ahensya sa larangang ito.

Matatandaan na ngayong buwan, pumirma ng memorandum of understanding (MOU) si DICT chief Ivan John Uy kay Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) Minister Jin Zhuanglong para mapaunlad pa ang digital cooperation ng dalawang bansa.

Sa ilalim ng MOU, magkakaroon ng palita ng kaalaman, technical expertise at best practices sa artificial intelligence, 5G, cloud computing, big data, internet of things at iba pang teknolohiya.

Sakop din nito ang pagpapabuti sa telecommunication industry.

Samantala, target naman ng pamahalaan na mapagana na ang
Luzon Bypass Infrastructure phase 1, isang fiber connectivity project, upang matugunan ang tumataas na paggamit sa mga digital platforms.

Ang 240-kilometro na fiber line ay magdurugtong sa cable landing stations sa Baler, Aurora at Poro Point, La Union.

Plano rin ng DICT na magtayo ng libreng WiFi sites sa 9,762 public spaces at 162 state universities, colleges at Technical Education And Skills Development Authority institutions. RNT/JGC
