PH team pinuri ni PBBM sa pagkapanalo sa IPSC World Shoot

MANILA, Philippines – Nagpaabot ng pagbati  si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa Philippine team sa pagkapanalo ng mga ito sa kamakailan lamang na pagtatapos ng 19th International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Handgun World Championships sa Thailand.

“We congratulate the Philippine team at the XIX International Practical Shooting Confederation Handgun Worldshoot for bringing pride to our country,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos sa kanyang  personal Facebook page.

Nauna nang nagpahayag ng kanyang  ‘full support’ si Pangulong Marcos sa Philippine delegation  nang  mag- courtesy call ang mga ito sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang noong Nobyembre 9 bago pa sumali at sumabak sa shooting competition.

“From one shooter to another, I commend all of you on your dedication to demonstrating the world-class talent of Filipino athletes,” ayon sa Pangulo na isang gun enthusiast.

Sa ulat, si Team Philippines’ Kahlil Adrian Viray, ang tanging Filipino at Asian member  ng prestihiyosong  CZ Shooting Team, nakasungkit ng tatlong gold medals sa kompetisyon.

Naging matagumpay na idinepensa ang Junior title at nanguna sa Individual Overall sa Standard division.

Ang kanyang third gold medal ay nagmula sa  team event kasama sina Rolly Nathaniel Tecson, Gerard Loy at Joseph Bernabe Jr.

Ang kapatid naman ni Kahlil na 17-year-old twin brothers, na sina Akeem Adrian, pangatlong puwesto at Kareem Adrian, panglimang puwesto sa  Standard Junior.

Ang nasabing tournament ang kanilang kauna-unahang  international competition.

Nakopo naman ni Crystalene Gonzales,  Philippine women’s team, miyembro ng Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP),  ang pangalawang second sa Lady’s Category ng  shooting event.

Si Gonzales, Jail Chief Inspector, kasama sina  Evelyn Woods, Rizza Vidallon at Maria Joahna Catalan ay nasungkit ang second spot sumunod sa Italy sa team production division lady category.

Samantala, ang iba pang  medalists mula sa  Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA) delegation ay sina  Jeufro Emil Lejano (Classic Overall), Jethro Dionisio (Classic Senior), Jerome Jovanne Morales (Production Optics Senior) at Aeron Jhon Lanuza (Production Junior), gold; Marly Martir (Classic Lady), Johann Abanilla (Production Optics Light Senior), Rolly Nathaniel Tecson (Standard Overall at Standard Junior) at Edcel John Gino (Open Overall), silver; at Alfredo Catalan Jr. (Classic Overall), Alex Lao (Classic Super Senior), James Quing (Classic Senior), Lydia Cuyong (Production Optics Light Lady), Aeron Jhon Lanuza (Production Overall), Robert Po (Standard Super Senior), Luisito Miguel de Guzman (Open Super Junior) at Jessica Tampoco (Open Lady), bronze.

Sa team competition,  nanguna ang Pilipinas sa Classic Overall (Jeufro Emil Lejano, Alfredo Catalan Jr., Lenard Lopez at Edrick Eliseo Chan) at  Standard Super Senior (Robert Po, Israelito Pible, Jose Maochi Suela at Isagani Buenaflor), at nagtapos na pangalawa  sa  Classic Senior (James Quing, Gilbert Go, Jesus Andres Soriano at Alex Lao), Production Overall (Aeron Jhon Lanuza, Paul Bryant Yu, Jon Gotamco at Willard Carrera), Production Lady (Evelyn Woods, Rizza Vidallon, Maria Joahna Catalan at Crystalene Gonzales) at Open Overall (Edcel John Gino, Nino Roberto Leviste, Keo Dayle Tuan at Enrico Papa).

Pangatlong puwesto naman ang Pilipinas sa Production Optics Light Overall (Paulo Paulino, Roy Harold Malunda, Johann Abanilla at Ronald Astillero), Production Senior (Anthony Sy, Amel Ariate at Rodolfo Cua Jr.) at Open Lady (Jessica Tampoco, Andrea Bernos, Erin Mattea Micor at Janice Navato).

May kabuuang 1,345 shooters  mula sa 73 bansa ang sumali sa 19th edition ng IPSC World Shoot na idinaos mula Nobyembre  16 hanggang Disyembre  3 sa Thailand Practical Shooting Association (THPSA) range.

Ang IPSC ay itinturing na “world’s largest shooting sport association” at pinakamalaki at pinakaluma sa  practical shooting. Kris Jose
