PSA: PH manufacturing mabagal na lumago nitong Setyembre 2022

MANILA, Philippines- Mabagal ang naging paglago ng Philippine manufacturing nitong Setyembre.

Sa katunayan, 9 na  industry divisions ang nakapag-post ng  annual decreases sa nasabing panahon, ayon sa ulat ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), araw ng Martes.

Makikita sa ipinalabas na data ng PSA  na ang volume of production index (VoPI)  ay nakapagtala ng annual growth na  2.4% nitong Setyembre, mas mabagal kumpara sa 4.4% noong Agosto at 124.3% noong Setyembre 2021.

Mula sa bilang na 22 industry divisions,  9 ang nakapag- post ng annual declines na pinangunahan ng paggawa ng  electrical equipment  na  54.7%, sinundan ng  basic metals  na bumaba ng  34.2%, at furniture  na bumaba naman ng 11.5%.

Ang  pagbaba ay nakita rin sa  beverages na -6.8%; printing at reproduction ng recorded media na  -6.5%;  paggawa ng rubber at plastic products na -4.9%;  tobacco products na -3.0%, coke at refined petroleum products na -2.8%, at iba pang  non-metallic mineral products na -0.3%.

“In terms of gainers, the fastest growth was seen in the manufacture of machinery and equipment except electrical which went up by 90.0%,” ayon sa PSA.

“This was followed by wood, bamboo, can, rattan articles, and related products up by 77.6%; chemical and chemical products up 30.1%; fabricated metal products by 21.7%; manufacture and repair and installation of machinery and related equipment by 18.6%; paper and paper products up 16.7%; and transport equipment by 14.5%,” dagdag na pahayag ng PSA.

Sa kabilang dako, nakita pa rin ang pagtaas sa  paggawa ng  computer, electronic, at optical products; food products; textiles; wearing apparel; basic pharmaceutical preparations; at leather at iba pang kaugnay na produkto kabilang na ang footwear o tsinelas at sapatos.

Double-digit annual growth ay naitala naman sa  value of production index (VaPI) na umakyat ng 10.0% nitong Setyembre  subalit ito’y maituturing pa rin na mabagal kumpara sa 11.8% ng nakalipas na buwan at  124.6% sa kahalintulad na buwan noong nakaraang taon.

Mayroon namang pitong  industry divisions ang naitalang  “annual declines”, pinangunahan ng paggawa ng  electrical equipment na kontratado na 53.5%.

Ang pagbaba ay naitala rin sa paggawa ng  basic metals (-32.3%); furniture (-9.9%); reproduction ng  recorded media (-7.1%); beverages (-1.3%); rubber at plastic products (-0.3%); at tobacco products (-0.1%).

Ang capacity utilization  ng  buwan ay  may averaged na  71.5%, bahagyang mataas sa  71.4% noong Agosto.

Samantala, tinatayang may 22.0%  ng kabuuang bilang ng  responding establishments  ang nagpahayag na sila ay  “operated at full capacity”  o 90% hanggang 100%,; 22.0% operated na  80% hanggang 89% capacity; 17.1% operated na 70% hanggang  79% capacity; 12.8% operated na 60% hanggang 69% capacity; 14.4% operated  na 50% hanggang 59% capacity; at 11.8% operated na below 50% capacity. Kris Jose
