Manila, Philippines – Tinanggal ng  Philippine Army (PA) ang nasa pitong ranking ready-reserve officers na tatakbo sa May 2022 elections upang matiyak ang ‘non-partisanship’ ng kanilang organisasyon.

“[The] said relief of position does not relieve them of being in the Reserve Force of the Philippine Army,” saad ni Colonel Xerxes Trinidad, PA spokesperson.

Ilan na rito sina Capt. Robin Padilla, dating chairperson ng Army’s Multi-Sectoral Advisory Board – Strategic Communications Committee (STRATCOMM-MSAB); actor-turned politician Brig. Gen. Herbert Bautista, dating brigade commander ng 1502nd Ready Reserve Infantry Brigade in the National Capital Region (1502 RRIBde); at Col. Isidro Ungab, dating brigade commander ng 2002ndRRIBde sa Davao City.

Dagdag pa rito sina Lt. Col. John Tracy Cagas, dating battalion commander ng 1101st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (RRIBn) sa Davao del Sur; Lt. Col. Eugene Balitang, dating battalion commander ng 1404th RRIBn sa Ifugao; Lt. Col. Jayvee Tyron Uy, dating battalion commander ng 1103rd RRIBn sa Davao de Oro; at Lt. Col. Rhodora Cadiao, dating commanding officer ng602nd RRIBn sa Antique.

Samantala, tiniyak ni Lt. Gen. Andres Centino, Chief of Staff ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na walang magaganap na panigan sa organisasyon.
