Manila, Philippines – Hinikayat ni Iligan City Rep. Frederick Siao ang Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) na magkaroon ang highly urbanized ng kanilang mga sariling quarantine facilities sa gitna ng coronavirus disease o COVID-19 cases sa bansa.

“If you are asking me, oobligahin ba ang LGUs na gumawa ng quarantine facilities, my answer is yes. ‘Yung mga second, third, fourth and fifth-class municipalities, ‘yung national government is capable of helping them,” lahad ni Siao.

“The DILG should obligate these highly urbanized cities to put up facilities.”

“You cannot let this problem go out of hand, kailangan natin i-control instead na nasa Metro Manila ang ground zero baka mapunta sa buong Pilipinas. The provinces do not have the facilities or equipment to take care of these serious COVID cases,” paliwanag pa ng mambabatas.

Kwento ni Siao, sa kanilang distrito ay may limitadong medical equipment at facility para ma-i-address ang COVID-19 cases.

“Just follow the protocol, ‘wag natin gawing shortcut itong bagay na ito. A lot of LGUs sometimes just disregard this,” lahad pa nito.

Para maresolba ang local transmission, dapat sagutin itong ng gobyerno at pagsasagawa ng polymerase chain reaction (PCR) diagnostic tests sa lahat ng LSIs bago bumalik sa probinsya.

“The PCR tests lessen the risk rather than going through the rapid testing, wala naman assurance ang rapid testing at least sa PCR swab test confirmed talaga.”

“Better to wait for 24 hours to three days rather than going home at mari-risk mo ‘yung munisipyo ninyo, ‘yung city ninyo, lalo na ang pamilya mo,” paliwanag pa nito.

“Ang sa akin, basta as long as may PCR test results ka na, certified ka na ru’n pwede na.” RNT/FGDC
