“Ang ating ugnayang panlabas sa China ay napakaimportante and we have received assurances from our Chinese host that all arrangements are being made to ensure the safety of the President and the delegation during the visit,” ayon kay Imperial.

Ito naman ang pangalawang face-to-face meeting sa pagitan ng dalawang heads of state “in less than two months.”

“There is an expectation that the state visit will set the tone of bilateral relations between the two countries in the next five to six years,” ayon kay Imperial.

Ang state visit ay naglalayon din na muling pagtibayin ang “cordial and neighborly” na relasyon sa pagitan ng Maynila at Beijing at maging para “ensure continuity in many facets of the bilateral relationship and chart new areas of engagement.”

“It is also expected to build on the growing trade and investment ties between the two economies as well as address security issues of mutual concern,” wika ni Imperial.

Tiniyak naman ni Imperial na isang “bubble arrangement” ang napagkasunduan “to minimize the risk of exposure to the virus (coronavirus).”

Samantala, makakasama naman ng Pangulo sa kanyang state visit sa Tsina sina Unang Ginang Louise Araneta-Marcos, dating Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo, Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno, Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual, Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, Information and Communications Technology Secretary Ivan John Uy at iba pang miyembro ng Gabinete. Kris Jose
